Two Gents Productions is run by Arne Pohlmeier. Originally from Germany he grew up across the globe in Cameroon, the United States, and Wales, and this internationality is reflected in his work. A migrant himself, Arne brings his own experiences to bear on his love of Shakespeare. Two Gents Productions is the product of this union: formed in 2008, Two Gents performed at Shakespeare's Globe in 2012, and toured successfully through the UK, Italy, and Australia in 2013 (Here's a review of Two Gents' tour by Australian Stage)
The Movement Director
Arne is joined by movement director, Yukiko Masui - a Tokyo-born artist with a background in hip-hop and contemporary dance. Yuki wants to emphasize how bodies can tell their own story through natural, daily movement beyond the words of the narrative; she works with the actors to help extend their physical characters within the space of the stage. Yukiko's recent work has been labeled "riveting" by The Guardian's Sanjoy Roy.
Alexandria Morgan is currently completing her MA in Shakespeare Studies at King's College, London, with a focus on early modern women's writing and constructions of femininity. An avid theatre-goer, she is keenly interested in inventive reworkings of canonical texts, as well as new writing. She is joining Two Gents to assist with administration and logistics.
Romy Nuttall recently graduated with an MA in Early Modern Literature from King's College, London. A Londoner by birth with a strong interest in theatre - past and present - Romy enjoys applying her own literary heritage to the daily life of a company of players, working for Two Gents on a range of logistical and adminstrative duties.
Born in the States but transplanted to England, Sam Harris is another recent graduate of the Early Modern MA at King's College. When he's not playing with his camera, Sam is responsible for creating and curating Two Gent's digital content, as well as providing the marketing for their productions.
